A Literary Christmas

I’m linking up here for A Literary Christmas. I think I’ll also make this list a page.

Whew, this list took well, hours I think, because I wanted to format it, so that if I went to the library, I could find books faster. I also wanted plenty to choose from this year and beyond. It is composed of books from a least four lists with books that became Hallmark movies and other similar books for adults, adult classics, children’s classics, and illustrated children’s books. Some of the latter (maybe the last three) categories, I’d like to buy. From the rest, I ordered some from two libraries, hoping some will come in in time and of those I will like some.

Great list, I’d like to re-read a Christmas Carol this year. Will look out for that Elizabeth Gaskell one as well. I’ve read a few Jenny Colgans but not a Christmas one yet, the Beach Street bakery one must be a sequel to one I’ve read though, might look for that in the library!

Thanks, I’ve struggled to find Christmas books for grownups, the kids illustrated ones are great and great for everyone, but I’d still likes some grown up options, so I tried to pick some I could try.

I got this awesome book box which has a gorgeous copy of A Christmas Carol and packages to open on certain pages, so I’m rereading that. I think some of the Dickens and Gaskell and Trollope stories are available on Gutenberg for free (those were on a readalong on Instagram, and I think that’s what they said). The Jenny Colgan one is for a Darling Desi patreon readalong, and the line is waaaay past Christmas at the library, so I’m guessing I’m not going to be able to get that one.

EEEEEP! This list is sooooo awesome! I only recognize a few titles myself. I’d love to just dive right in to everything on this list.

I look forward to hearing about any of the books you read this December. Thanks for joining A Literary Christmas! 🙂

I used one of the Goodreads list, I got through the 1st two pages, and might go further next year. I’m hoping I can be more successful at reading this year!

There’s so many Christmas related books out there. Heidi is one that I hadn’t thought of for Christmas but it’s funny how the Christmas scene, at least in the movie, is one of the things I remember best about it

That’s funny, I’m not sure I remember much about Christmas in Heidi, unless it was the sleepwalking part. I watched the 80’s one (over and over and over to infinity as child). I’m definitely due for a reread and rewatch.
