I’m going to attempt another spin. I had a play the last time which if I hadn’t essentially forgotten I could easily have read. I’ve put it on this list along with The Idiot and anything I felt was Autumnal feeling or at least not as Spring-y or Summer-y.
- An Anton Chekhov novel
- The Wimsey Papers by Dorothy Sayers
- A Good Man is Hard to Find or other Flannery O’Connor novel
- A Portrait of A Lady and/or Turning of the Screw by Henry James
- Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
- Cymbelline
- Dracula by Bram Stoker
- Irish Faerie Tales by William Butler Yeats
- House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
- King John
- Macbeth
- Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
- Richard III
- The Crucible by Arthur Miller
- The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
- The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit by Charles Dickens
- The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins
- The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens
- The Scarlet Letter and/or The House with Seven Gables by Nathanial Hawthorne
- Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
Well, that’s a very interesting list. Mine will be going up on my blog on Friday!
Thanks, I’ll have to check yours on Friday. I put mine up asap because otherwise I’d forget.
I remember really loving The Crucible, and I’m not one for reading plays! Thought the Moonstone was quite fun too, but a bit long winded.
I read a different Miller play for school ages ago, so kind of dreading it, but plays are short. Really hoping I’ll get the Moonstone.
This list has such a specific vibe to it I love it. I have read the Old Curiosity shop and Alice in Wonderland but I haven’t read any of the others.
I just realized the Irish Faerie book was Yeats which makes me even more excited about that one. I think Skye might actually have that one which means I know what to look out for better.
Yes, I was aiming for Autumnal, but I mainly been watching Castle with some occasional fluff reading, so we’ll see how I do.
