Elinor and Marianne Take Barton

I finished rereading Sense and Sensibility with Hamlette’s readalong. So I’m going to be rewatching the films and right now, I’m rewatching “Elinor and Marianne Take Barton.” Remember the web series days? What happened? What a really quick trend.

This one is so adorable, I actually prefer the ones made by non-professionals, they actually feel more accurate and not so staged. The age difference between Marianne and Brandon is normal, so their romance is cute. Elinor and Edward are adorkable. Lucy is as evil as ever. Will is not believable though, he was supposed to be charming rogue, not an obvious louse, that is more a John Thorpe type.

Loved this! Did you have any specific favourite parts from Sense and Sensibility? Every time I read it I always laugh over Marianne getting so annoyed with Edward for not appreciating mossy trees enough. She’d been so determined for 5 minutes that she was going to be nice to him and then he’s like ‘I just like nice, regular trees’ and Marianne just dies a thousand deaths.

Have you watched this webseries? I don’t know of anyone else who has. I’d say its around the same rating as the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, I do tend to skip some Willoughby parts. I do like Edward’s gentle sarcasm. Also JA sarcasm about Willoughby’s “broken” heart at the end is pretty funny.

I hadn’t heard of it until you posted it. I haven’t watched the whole thing yet but I have watched a couple of the videos now. Same. The broken heart bit always makes me laugh too XD

Oh, good, I’ve convinced someone, I hope you like it. I like because I can actually ship Marianne and Brandon.

I’m so glad more people are trying it. Its super cute and fun. And literally made by college students to really feels authentic.
